Telgian’s Chief Engineering Officer, Tracey Bellamy, will present a seminar detailing NFPA 13 at the California Fire Prevention Institute, CFPI Annual Workshop on March 14, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The event, which runs from March 11-15, 2019, will be held at the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott in Buellton, California.
According to NFPA, “NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, provides the minimum requirements for the design and installation of automatic fire sprinkler systems and exposure protection sprinkler systems. The purpose of NFPA 13 is to provide a reasonable degree of protection for life and property from fire through standardization of design, installation, and testing requirements for sprinkler systems (including private fire service mains) based on sound engineering principles, test data, and field experience.”
In addition to Bellamy’s workshop, the event will also feature presentations on a wide variety of fire protection, fire safety and life safety topics such as Fire Alarm Field Acceptance Testing, Basic Building / Fire Plan Reading, Tall Wood Framed Buildings, NFPA 3000 Standard for Active Shooter Preparedness, NFPA’s Fire Service Photovoltaic & Battery Energy Storage Systems Safety Training and Understanding Fire Sprinkler Hydraulics with No Math Anxiety, plus more.
Bellamy is uniquely qualified to speak on NFPA 13 and is active within the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), representing Telgian on a number of technical committees including NFPA 13, 15, 16, 25, 30, 30B, 101 and 5000. He is a certified instructor with NFPA and teaches nationally and internationally on a variety of fire protection topics.
Bellamy has over 30 years of experience in the fire protection industry as a registered Professional Fire Protection and Civil Engineer. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering. In addition, he holds an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Fire Protection Engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
