Pat Tesche, Telgian’s Vice President of Firestop, will present Plan Review and Inspection of Firestop Systems on Wednesday, January 16 at 8:00 am – 9:30 am and 9:45 am – 11:15 am at the 57th Annual Institute for Building Officials event. Firestop Systems Plan Review is an essential event for architects, building, electrical, elevator, engineers, fire, housing, manufactured home installers, mechanical, permit technicians, plumbing, and residential building contractors.
“A significant number of commercial buildings today either don’t have the proper firestop systems installed at the penetrations and fire-rated joints, or they were improperly installed,” says Tesche. “Billions of dollars in annual property damages and thousands of injuries and fatalities occur annually due to structure fires. Those catastrophes, however, can be significantly reduced with improved firestop systems specification and installation awareness.”
Tesche is uniquely qualified to present this workshop. As Telgian’s Vice President of Firestop, he is responsible for all aspects of the Firestop Design, Engineering, Consulting and Inspection division, including from code consulting and development. His expertise includes inspection methods, QA/QC Module and Glossary Appendix. P
He also serves on a variety of industry organizations. Tesche is a Founding Board Member for the Life Safety Organization, a member of the Firestop Contractors International Association, American Society of Health Care Engineers, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and American Society for Testing and Materials. In addition, he was recently appointed Chair for the International Firestop Council Inspectors Committee.
The Institute will be held at the Continuing Education and Conference Center, 1890 Buford Avenue, Saint Paul, Minnesota (on the Saint Paul campus of the University of Minnesota).
