Fire, security, and life safety services provider Telgian Engineering & Consulting today announced the appointment of Dr. Denver Roopchand as regional practice leader of environmental, health and safety and operational risks for Telgian Engineering & Consulting. TEC is a strategic business unit of Telgian that specializes in complex multi-discipline public and private sector projects. In addition to his role as leader of TEC’s environmental, health and safety practice, Dr. Roopchand heads TEC’s new Houston office.
Dr. Roopchand has nearly three decades of experience in global risk management and leads strategic planning, process safety, risk, assurance and change management consulting services for TEC. His team partners with senior management to effectively assess, optimize and manage environmental, health and safety programs to safeguard life, the environment, business reputation and shareholder value.

Previously, Dr. Roopchand was director of quality health safety, environment and risks for Exterran Inc., the world’s largest natural gas compression company operating in 30 countries. He was also director of strategy and performance for safety and operational risk for BP.
Dr. Roopchand is a certified environmental auditor under standard series ISO 14000 and holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering, a master’s of engineering in hazard control and Ph.D. in risk engineering from the University of Toronto.
