Fire protection and safety expert Tom Parrish, SET, CFPS, PSP will present “Fire Alarm Systems and Changes” on Friday, October 28, 2022, 8:00 am – 8:50 am. The presentation is part of the 2022 Texas Fire Marshal Association (TFMA) Conference which will be held October 25 – 28, 2022 at Embassy Suites, in San Marcos, Texas. Parrish’s presentation will include discussion regarding the changes in fire alarm system communications with the shutdown of plain old telephone service (POTS), as well as a review of the key changes in NFPA 72.
A veteran speaker and instructor, Parrish has over 25 years of experience in fire protection and emergency response, is a retired firefighter and the retired Fire Marshal for Putnam Township Michigan, as well as Vice President of Telgian Fire Safety. He serves on multiple National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) technical committees and is the newly elected President of the national Automatic Fire Alarm Association (AFAA).
Parrish is a senior instructor for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and his professional credentials include Level IV NICET Certified Fire Alarm Technician, Level III NICET Inspections and Testing, Certified Fire Protection Specialist and Master Electrician.
