Telgian Executive Chairman Russell Leavitt will present an AFSA webinar entitled “NFPA 13, 2019 Edition: A New Approach to the Protection of Storage” on May 28 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM as part of the new American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) webinar series. The virtual professional development series is designed to help AFSA members strengthen their industry understanding and knowledge during the coronavirus pandemic.
While this Fire Protection for Storage webinar and CEUs are complimentary for all AFSA members, the non-member rate is $120. This webinar offers 0.15 CEUs and 1.5 CPDs, but does not offer CAL FIRE-approved CEUs.
Leavitt’s presentation will review the revised general storage chapter, as well as the new format of the 2019 edition of NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. This edition reorganizes the requirements for the protection of storage in a completely new way, and separates ceiling protection into chapters by fire sprinkler type. In addition, Leavitt will conduct a thorough review of the new NFPA 13 chapter which deals with in-rack sprinkler protection.
Upon completion of this webinar, attendees will be able to explain the reorganization of NFPA 13 for the protection of storage, as well as locate and apply the general requirements for storage protection, the requirements for storage occupancies and the requirements for the use of in-rack sprinkler protection.
