Telgian Fire Safety was a proud sponsor of the Tire Kingdom 13th Annual Golf Classic, held Friday October 18, 2019. This event, organized annually by Tire Kingdom, benefits Take Stock in Children Palm Beach County, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to transforming Florida, one student at a time Working in every county throughout Florida, with a mission to break the cycle of poverty for low-income, academically qualified students, Take Stock in Children provides opportunities for a post-secondary education. In fact, the organization has provided $15 million in Florida Prepaid Foundation Scholarships, with over 1,200 students enrolled.
In addition, through a multi-year model Take Stock in Children provides wraparound services to the students, with no drop-off of services after high school completion. Students enrolled in the program are matched with a caring volunteer mentor and equipped with academically-focused intervention. They are awarded a college scholarship and provided with essential post-secondary retention services.
For 25 years, Take Stock in Children has been making an real impact. 74% of the students enrolled in this program complete college, compared to the Florida average of 27% for students in poverty. Read some of Take Stock in Children’s Success Stories.
