Telgian has been honored with a nomination by Valleywise Health Foundation for the 40th Annual National Philanthropy Day “Outstanding Corporation Award.” The event, held by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Arizona Chapter, is a special day set aside each year to recognize and celebrate the many contributions and impact that philanthropists make in our lives, our local communities and our world. Telgian was recognized for an exceptional corporate philanthropic culture and outstanding commitment to charitable financial support.
“Giving back has always been a cornerstone of the Telgian culture,” explains company CEO and President James Tomes. “Not only do we believe in providing financial support for many important charitable organizations in our local communities, our team members have also contributed hundreds of volunteer hours each year for almost four decades.”
For example, at Valleywise Health Foundation, Telgian associates have volunteered their time on numerous occasions, including assisting with the Grand Opening of a new medical center, preparing critical medical supply kits for burn survivors and hosting a “Flip Flop Drive” which was held in response to an emergency need for shoes, so that vulnerable patients could be safely discharged without the threat of contact burns from the pavement.
The company is also a proud supporter of the Arizona Sustainability Alliance (AZSA) and its sustainability efforts, such as planting trees in the local community. Because extreme heat is the number one natural disaster that Arizonans face, one of the best ways to combat it is by planting trees which function as a heat sink to reduce temperatures. Telgian’s various tree planting projects throughout Phoenix will have a positive impact on the environment for years to come.
In addition to volunteering with Valleywise Health Foundation and Arizona Sustainability Alliance, Telgian has made a lasting impact on communities across the country through long-term involvement in many other charitable organizations. This includes championing the causes supported by customers such as The Home Depot Foundation, as well as other organizations including the Thunderbird Field II Veterans Memorial, Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, Military Assistance Mission and Fireboat Fire Fighter Museum.
In November 2024, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Arizona Chapter will host its 40th Annual National Philanthropy Day. Seven leadership awards will be presented to individuals and organizations in celebration of their philanthropic contributions.
