Fire protection engineer and industry expert Tracey Bellamy will present a Fire Smarts, Water-Based Fire Protection System Freeze Protection Online Training Opportunity on February 23. The online course will be held from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Pacific.
This Water-Based Fire Protection System Freeze Protection webinar will cover the NFPA standards for freeze protection of water-based fire protection systems. It also will examine the conditions that trigger mandatory freeze protection, along with the approved options for meeting the requirement. In addition, the design limitations and economic impact (including maintenance) of using dry pipe systems, preaction systems, insulation, heat tracing, antifreeze solutions, and other potential protection methods will be covered.
“Webinar participants will learn to identify and apply the items needed to be considered when making a choice on how best to provide adequate protection,” says Bellamy. “Attendees will also examine the consequences of inadequate freeze protection versus the building owner’s need for dependable and cost-effective fire protection.”
Bellamy, Chief Engineering Officer at Telgian Engineering & Consulting, has over 26 years of experience in fire protection, including all areas of the fire sprinkler industry. In addition, he has extensive experience in fire suppression system design, fire hazard analysis, and fire protection system inspections and testing.
