Tracey Bellamy Appointed to Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers Board of Governors

Telgian Engineering & Consulting, LLC (TEC) Chief Engineering Officer Tracey Bellamy was recently appointed to the Board of Governors of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.

The purpose of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, like the Society, is to advance the science and practice of fire protection engineering and its allied fields, as well as to maintain a high ethical standard among its members and to foster fire protection engineering education.

“I am honored to serve on the Board of Governors of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers,” says Bellamy. “The Greater Atlanta Chapter is at the forefront of offering the  essential outreach to emerging students to advance the field of fire protection engineering education across the state. I look forward to supporting this important organization and its mission.”  

A globally recognized professional, Bellamy has had a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years as a fire protection engineer and consultant to international organizations. As the Chief Engineering Officer, he oversees the technical aspects of TEC’s engineering projects and establishes standards of performance for the fire protection engineering program. Bellamy also provides fire protection and life safety consulting services related to fire and building codes and national fire protection standards. He is a consultant for major construction projects and hazardous material storage facilities throughout the United States and has directed major full-scale fire test programs aimed at the development of alternative fire protection schemes resulting in client savings of over $1B. In addition, he has provided technical support to facilities in response to Department of Energy (DOE) audits and reviews for new facilities and modification plans and specifications for compliance with applicable DOE requirements. Bellamy also has extensive experience in assessing existing facilities for compliance with highly protected and improved risk criteria and code requirements.

Bellamy is dedicated to advancing the fire protection industry, and in addition to the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Foundation Board of Governors, he is active in numerous National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards committees. As a senior level instructor, he has also presented classes for NFPA, AFSA, NFSA and Fire Smarts, providing instruction on a wide variety of topics including NFPA standards and the International Building and Fire Codes.

Additionally, Bellamy has shared his industry knowledge through numerous articles published in a variety of trade magazines such as American Fire Sprinkler Association’s Sprinkler Age, Fire Middle East magazine, Marina Dock Age magazine, and Reeves Journal, among others. And, he is a major contributor to the NFPA 13, Automatic Sprinkler Systems Handbook and NFPA 25, Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems Handbook, published by NFPA.
