Telgian Corporation’s Vice President, Tom Parrish, will instruct at the four day NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code Training Program on January 30 – February 2, 2019. The training event, organized by the Fire & Security Association of India, Gujarat Chapter, will cover the key aspects of the design, installation and basic maintenance of protective signaling systems.
Upon completion of the training, attendees will be able to locate, interpret and correctly apply the requirements found within NFPA 72. Continuing education credits will be awarded at 0.7 per day for successful completion of each day of training.
NFPA 72, a standard published by the National Fire Protection Association, provides the latest safety provisions to meet society’s changing fire detection, signaling and emergency communications demands. In addition to the core focus on fire alarm systems, the Code also includes requirements for mass notification systems used for weather emergencies, terrorist events, biological, chemical and nuclear emergencies, as well as other threats.

With over 30 years’ of experience in fire protection and emergency response, Parrish has held various positions with municipal fire, law enforcement and emergency medical services, as well as in private industry system design and installation programs. He currently serves on several NFPA technical committees including NFPA 72 Emergency Communication Systems, NFPA 72 Supervising Station Systems, NFPA 3 & 4 and NFPA 1221, NEC-CP16, NFPA 99, NFPA 92, NFPA 3000 and the NFPA 72 Correlating Committee.
An experienced presenter, Parrish has instructed fire, life safety and security seminars and training events throughout the US and around the globe. These include programs based on industry standards such as NFPA 70, 70E, 101, as well as those addressing local requirements.
His professional credentials include Level IV NICET Certified Fire Alarm Technician, Level III NICET Inspections and Testing, Certified Fire Protection Specialist and Master Electrician. In addition, Parrish is board-certified as a Physical Security Professional by ASIS.
