Telgian’s Strategic Account Manager of Healthcare, Thomas Salamone, will present on the topic, “What is the focus of a CMS/DOH pre-opening/pre-occupancy inspection?” Salamone has more than 30 years of healthcare industry experience, helping facilities stay in compliance with CMS, DOH and The Joint Commission. Salamone is a well-respected trainer, educator, consultant, outsourced director, and is widely considered a Health Care Accreditation Preparation, AHJ Readiness, Life Safety, Emergency Management Expert.
Salamone’s session will focus on what inspectors looking for, evaluating and citing with respect to systems, equipment and evidence of compliance documentation. Focus areas will include FGI Guidelines, CMS’ Conditions of Participation, NFPA 101, NFPA 99, NFPA 13, and inspection, testing and maintenance of fire protection, fire alarm and supervisory systems. Recommended practices and compliance tools will also be discussed to help maintain compliance and greater awareness of surveyor expectations.
