Fire, security, and life safety services provider Telgian Corporation today announced that Telgian Executive Chairman Russ Leavitt will be a presenter at the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) Conference. The event will be held on April 30 – May 2 at the Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. Leavitt will conduct a presentation entitled “Simplifying NFPA 13,” which will provide information on the goals, objectives and progress of the NFPA Automatic Sprinkler Correlation Committee Task Group’s proposed changes to the 2019 Edition of NFPA 13.
In addition to “Simplifying NFPA 13,” Leavitt will also conduct a second presentation entitled “NFPA 25 Task Group Work.” In this seminar, Leavitt will review and discuss the status of the first draft of revisions that were raised at the 2013 Fire Protection Research Foundation Chicago workshop for the 2017 Edition of NFPA 25.
“Staying up to date and understanding any changes to NFPA Codes 13 and 25 are essential to success as a fire safety professional,” said Leavitt. “I look forward to this opportunity to helping educate fire and life safety professionals on projected NFPA changes, as well as starting a discussion about what else should be included in the revisions.”
Leavitt currently serves on the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Board of Directors, as well as on a number of NFPA technical committees, including those responsible for NFPA 13 and 25. He is the Chair of the Technical Committee for Sprinkler System Discharge Criteria and also serves as Chair for the NFPA 13 2019 Edition Reformatting Task Group. In addition, Leavitt was a major contributor to the 2011 and 2014 NFPA 25 Handbooks.
The NFSA Annual Conference features an expanded four-day program delivered by a host of well-recognized fire sprinkler industry and business experts. The conference will offer valuable CEU credits from more than 30 sessions on a broad range of topics that will be of interest to fire sprinkler contractors, suppliers and manufacturers, designers, AHJs, and building owners, as well as facility managers.
