Fire, security, and life safety services provider Telgian Corporation announced today that three of its industry experts have been selected by Fire Smarts, LLC, to facilitate and serve as presenters at the NFPAWA Fire Protection Conference. The conference begins today in Lagos, Nigeria, and continues through Thursday, Apr. 21, 2016.
Telgian Executive Chairman Russell Leavitt, Vice President of Integrated Systems Tom Parrish, and Chief Engineering Officer Tracey Bellamy, along with other experts, will lead cutting-edge educational sessions at the NFPAWA Fire Protection Conference designed to define and elevate West Africa’s safety standards. Each presenter will provide insights on building fire safety systems, compliant with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards to participating professionals, including architects, engineers, contractors, building managers, public and private fire service, enforcement agencies, insurers, and utilities.

In the U.S., Telgian experts are active in industry organizations like NFPA, including more than 30 NFPA committees. Several members of the firm have collectively been major contributors to published NFPA Handbooks and are frequently authored in industry publications.
Leavitt himself has served on the NFPA Board of Directors since June 2014 as well as serving on the NFPA 13 correlating committee, NFPA 25 technical committee and the NFPA 5000 correlating committee. With more than 32 years of experience in the design, installation and testing of fire protection systems, he has worked on projects throughout North, Central and South America, the Far East, and Europe. At NFPAWA, Leavitt will lead educational sessions related to automatic fire sprinkler systems (NFPA 13).
Parrish has more than 25 years of experience in fire protection and emergency response. He serves on several NFPA technical committees and as an instructor for many of the organization’s meetings and seminars. Parrish’s NFPAWA sessions are focused on automatic fire alarm and detection systems (NFPA 72).
Bellamy also has more than 25 years of experience in fire protection, including extensive experience with fire suppression system design, fire hazard analysis and fire protection system inspection and testing. He serves on multiple NFPA technical and correlating committees. Bellamy will lead sessions on life safety and means of egress (NFPA 101) at NFPAWA.
