NFPA 25 Review for Healthcare by Telgian’s Bob Caputo

Events & News

NFPA 25 Review for Healthcare presented by Telgina's Bob CaputoTelgian’s Executive Vice President of Compliance Solutions, Bob Caputo, a featured speaker at the 30th AHCA Seminar, will present NFPA 25 Review at the annual event. The event will be held September 21-22 at the Hilton Orlando in Orlando, Florida and will focus on the revisions to major fire, safety and security codes and standards in Florida, as well as important healthcare design topics and issues important to designers, contractors, facility managers and inspectors.

The 30th Annual AHCA Seminar is produced by the AHCA – the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. The organization’s mission, “Better Health Care for All Floridians” focuses on the administration of the Florida Medicaid program, licensure and regulation of Florida’s health facilities, as well as providing information to Floridians about the quality of the healthcare that they receive.

Caputo’s session will review some of the changes to NFPA 25 – Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems – and will address the problem of “responsibility.” One of the most common problems for those using NFPA 25 is understanding who is responsible for what elements. There are often multiple stakeholders in the inspection/testing/maintenance process, such as the owner, one or more AHJs, insurance representatives, and contractors. It is critically important that everyone be aware of the responsibility and liability of each party. This session will discuss potential stakeholders, what their responsibilities are, as outlined by NFPA 25, and how those responsibilities are carried out in the field.
