NFPA 25 Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (IT&M) of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems is one of the misunderstood and misapplied fire protection standards in use today. To share more about NFPA 25, Telgian Fire Safety’s fire protection expert Ralph Bless will present a Fire Smarts webinar, “Introduction to NFPA 25 Water-Based Fire Protection Systems” on November 10, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm Eastern.
During the course, Bless will examine the scope of NFPA 25, including a detailed look at the purpose of NFPA 25 as a wear and tear document not intended for design evaluation. The discussion will cover activities that are within, and those that are not within, the scope of NFPA 25 as it relates to fire sprinklers, standpipes and fire pumps. Basic definitions will be reviewed, as well as the IT&M responsibilities of building owners, AHJ’s and contractors and inspectors for these systems.
Upon completion, attendees will be able to understand the basic definitions and their application in required IT&M activities and understand the roles and responsibilities of each relevant stakeholder including the building owner, AHJ and contractor/inspector. In addition, attendees will be able to explain IT&M activities that are within the scope, and those that are intentionally not within the scope, of NFPA 25.
