Foam Restrictions and Alternatives – AFFF to SFFF Webinar

Events & News

Foam Restrictions and Alternatives – AFFF to SFFF WebinarAqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) restrictions have continued across the United States and in many foreign countries, resulting in a need to transition to alternative solutions. With the development of Synthetic Fluorine Free Foam (SFFF) products for the commercial market, new code allowances for alternate protection schemes and alternate guidelines for replacement in the military sector, it can be difficult to determine what the best solution is for the replacement of AFFF. To share more about foam restrictions and alternatives, Telgian Engineering & Consulting, LLC (TEC) fire protection expert Troy Wiltbank  will present a Fire Smarts webinar, “Foam Restrictions and Alternatives – AFFF to SFFF” on December 8, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm Eastern.

During the course, Wiltbank will examine navigating codes and restrictions, evaluating the hazard, and performing the system design process for replacement. The webinar will also include a discussion on evaluating the need for AFFF replacement and considerations for providing the best fire protection solution for the hazard.

Upon completion, attendees will be able to understand AFFF restrictions and alternatives, as well as the existing AFFF design and field conditions. In addition, attendees will be able to explain the Code and Standards options related to design and replacement of AFFF and describe design considerations of the replacement solution.
