Telgian Corporation’s Chief Engineering Officer, Tracey Bellamy, will conduct live classroom training at Shoreline Fire Department HQ in Shoreline, WA on September 17, 2019. The 4-hour course is a high-level overview on fire sprinkler systems.
In addition to the history and safety objective of fire sprinkler systems, the three required components needed for a sprinkler to function (automatic sprinkler, water supply, and the connection or piping between the two) will be examined. This course will also cover the four major types of fire sprinkler systems and the associated components, as well as basic installation requirements and system acceptance.
This course will be presented in a discussion style of teaching, with the aid of a Power Point presentation. Group discussion is encouraged to facilitate understanding, and practical application exercises will be given where relevant to the content. Attendees will take a review test, as well, to measure learning and retention.
Presenter Tracey Bellamy is uniquely qualified to present the Fire Sprinkler Systems Course, with more than 25 years of experience in the fire protection community, including all areas of the fire sprinkler industry.
In addition, he has extensive experience with fire suppression system design, fire hazard analysis and fire protection system inspection and testing. He is also a licensed as a Professional Engineer in 49 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Guam, as well as a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
Bellamy serves on several National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) technical and correlating committees including NFPA 13, 15, 16, 25, 30, 30B, 101 and 5000 (building code). He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).
Continuing Education Credits for the Fire Sprinkler Systems Course
Each participant registered, completing the sign-in sheet and attending the full training session will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate will include the participants name, training subject, date, number of training hours completed and the Fire Smarts name, address and phone number.
Certificates will comply with International Code Council (ICC) CEU requirements for ICC approved training courses. Fire Smarts is an approved training provider of the ICC. ICC CEU’s are assigned based on 0.1 CEU per training contact hour.
Certificates can be used as supporting documentation for CPD points required for NICET certification. This applies to the “Additional Education” section of NICET Policy #30 on Continuing Professional Development that allows for CPD points for education to advance, broaden and enhance technical knowledge and job skills.
