Fire Alarm Interconnectivity to the Fire Sprinkler System WebinarTelgian fire protection industry expert Tom Parrish will present a Fire Smarts “Fire Alarm Interconnectivity to the Fire Sprinkler System” training opportunity on January 27 8:00 am – 5:00 pm PST. This webinar is part of the Washington State Fire Marshal’s 2021 Fire Sprinkler Training Schedule.

The course introduces participants to NFPA standards requiring water-based fire protection systems to be tested and inspected as per both the NFPA 25 and NFPA 72. In addition, the Fire Alarm Interconnectivity to the Fire Sprinkler System webinar will explore the monitoring requirements for sprinkler systems, as well as supervisory signals that need to be captured. And, this program will cover dedicated function fire alarm systems that are used exclusively for sprinkler monitoring and the requirements for those systems.

Presenter Tom Parrish, SET, CFPS, PSP is the Vice President of Telgian Corporation and has more than 26 years of experience in fire protection and emergency response. He has held multiple positions with municipal fire, law enforcement and emergency medical services, as well as in private industry security system design and installation programs.

As an industry leader dedicated to positive change in the industry, he serves on several National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) technical committees including NFPA 72 Signaling Systems for the Protection of Life and Property and Emergency Communications Systems. Parrish is also the Vice President of the Automatic Fire Alarm Association (AFAA) and is a senior instructor for NFPA.

His professional credentials include Level IV NICET Certified Fire Alarm Technician, Level III NICET Inspections and Testing, Certified Fire Protection Specialist and Master Electrician.  Parrish is also board-certified as a Physical Security Professional by ASIS and the current Fire Marshal at Putnam Township Fire Department in Pinckney, Michigan.

All Washington State Fire Marshal’s 2021 Fire Sprinkler Training Classes are eligible for CEU credits. To receive credits and/or a Certificate of Attendance, participants must attend the entire training session.
