Fire protection industry expert Tom Parrish will present a Fire Smarts, Fire Alarm Online Training Opportunity on April 22. The “Fire Alarm Interconnectivity to the Fire Sprinkler System” webinar is scheduled from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Pacific. This 8-hour training Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Interconnectivity event covers the NFPA standards requiring water-based fire protection systems to be tested and inspected, as per both the NFPA 25 and NFPA 72.
In addition, this course will explain the monitoring requirements for sprinkler systems, as well as supervisory signals that need to be captured. During this program, presenter Parrish will also cover dedicated function fire alarm systems used exclusively for sprinkler monitoring and the requirements for those systems.
A veteran instructor and speaker, Parrish has 25+ years of experience in fire protection, fire safety and emergency response. He has held multiple positions with municipal fire, law enforcement and emergency medical services, as well as in private industry fire alarm system design and installation programs.
As a fire safety industry leader, he serves on several National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) technical committees including NFPA 72 Signaling Systems for the Protection of Life and Property and Emergency Communications Systems. In addition, Parrish is a Board Member of the AFAA) and is a senior instructor for NFPA. His professional credentials include Level IV NICET Certified Fire Alarm Technician, Level III NICET Inspections and Testing, Certified Fire Protection Specialist and Master Electrician.
Certificates of completion for the Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Interconnectivity webinar complies with International Code Council (ICC) CEU requirements for ICC approved training courses and can be used as supporting documentation for CPD points required for NICET certification. In addition, certificates may be used as supporting documentation for credit hours required for re-certification as part of the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC) program and for Texas Commission on Fire Protection certifications.
