NFPA 101 Egress, Exits, and Emergency Lighting webinar by Telgian's Ralph BlessTelgian’s Ralph Bless will present a Fire Smarts Online Training Opportunity on April 9, from 2:00 pm-3:30 pm Eastern Time. Certificates of completion for the NFPA 101 Egress Exits and Emergency Lighting webinar comply with International Code Council (ICC) CEU requirements for ICC approved training courses and can be used as supporting documentation for CPD points required for NICET certification. In addition, certificates of completion can be used as supporting documentation for credit hours required for re-certification as part of the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC) program and for Texas Commission on Fire Protection certifications.

The NFPA 101 Egress, Exits, and Emergency Lighting webinar reviews occupant safety in buildings from smoke, heat and other hazards created during a fire. This training opportunity is based on NFPA 101 ‘Life Safety Code’ and the International Building Code (IBC).

The webinar will provide an overview of the requirements for egress, exits, and emergency lighting, including acceptable means of egress for occupants to safely exit a building, requirements for illumination, and rules for markings and signage to guide occupants to the exits. Requirements for warehousing, commercial and retail occupancies will be given specific emphasis.

After completion of the webinar, attendees will be able to understand the requirements of NFPA 101 and IBC related to egress, exiting and emergency lights, as well as explain how to determine types of egress and emergency lighting. In addition, participants will learn the rules of egress, exits and emergency lights in warehousing, commercial and retail facilities.

Egress Exits and Emergency Lighting Webinar, Ralph BlessPresenter Ralph Bless has more than 38 years of experience in fire protection, which includes a broad range of water based and special hazard system design, code consulting and fire protection engineering services. Bless is licensed as a Professional Engineer, is a Level IV NICET senior fire sprinkler layout technician, and holds several state and national certifications such as Certified Fire Protection Specialist.

Bless represents Telgian on a number of NFPA committees and chairs the NFPA technical committee for Record Storage, NFPA 232. He also serves as a primary member of the NFPA technical committees for Water Spray Systems, NFPA 15 as well as an alternate member of the NFPA 13 Correlating Committee.
