Fire, security, and life safety services provider Telgian Corporation announced today that five Telgian experts – Leonard Ramo, Tom Parrish, Dan Vandergriff, Tracey Bellamy and Warren Burns– will present educational sessions at the 14th Annual Campus Fire Safety and Emergency Management Conference February 26-28 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus, Ohio. At the campus fire safety event, the Telgian experts will present on the importance of various NFPA codes and discuss ways higher education campuses can improve safety procedures and systems.
Warren Burns, regional practice leader of Telgian Engineering & Consulting, will lead a discussion about applying “the three Es” to exiting – engineering, enforcement and education – to provide occupant safety. The presentation will take place Monday, February 27, from 1 – 2 p.m.
Tom Parrish, vice president of integrated systems, will provide an overview of testing and inspection requirements as defined by NFPA 72, including new definitions around qualified personnel and ways to obtain appropriate qualifications for inspection, on Monday, February 27, from 2:10 – 3:10 p.m.
Dan Vandergriff, vice president of operations for Telgian Engineering & Consulting, will lead a session entitled “Prioritizing Fire Protection Upgrades with Limited Budgets – Fire Sprinkler Long-Term Planning” on Monday, February 27, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Vandergriff will discuss building planning considerations that can maximize fire protection systems for a low cost.
Leonard Ramo, executive vice president of Telgian Engineering & Consulting, will lead a session entitled “Fire Risk Assessments – Campus Based Properties” on Tuesday, February 28, from 9:20 – 10:20 a.m. to highlight the intricacies of fire risk assessments, including the benefits they bring in identifying and mitigating hazards and risks to property and personnel.
Tracey Bellamy, chief engineering officer, will present on arc flash hazards and testing electric fire pumps, expanding on the provisions of NFPA 25, which includes precautions to be taken when testing and maintaining electric fire pump controllers. His presentation will be Tuesday, February 28, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
All Telgian presentations will take place in Franklin Room B at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
