Automated Inspections and Testing: Threat or OpportunityTelgian fire protection expert and Executive Chairman Russell Leavitt, CFPS, SET was recently a guest speaker at the Fire Sprinkler Contractor Association of Texas Quarterly Luncheon in Houston, Texas. His topic, “Automated Inspections and Testing: Threat or Opportunity,” explored what the move to automated inspections and testing will mean for contractors.

Leavitt is the Executive Chair of industry-leading fire protection firm Telgian. With over 42 years of experience, he holds a Level IV certification from NICET in Fire Sprinkler Layout and Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) designation.

He is Chair of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Board of Directors, the former Chair of the NFPA 13 Sprinkler System Discharge Criteria technical committee, and continues to serve on the committee along with the NFPA 13 Installation committee, as well as the NFPA 3, NFPA 4 909, and 914 technical committees.

In addition to “Automated Inspections and Testing: Threat or Opportunity,” Leavitt conducts seminars internationally on a variety of fire and life safety related subjects and has authored numerous articles and training materials.
