SFPE Greater Atlanta Conference features Telgian Engineering & Consulting’s Tracey BellamyTelgian Engineering & Consulting Chief Engineering Officer Tracey Bellamy will be a member of the “Hottest Testing and Final Extinguishment Experience with ASRS” panel discussion (Session 2A, 10:15am – 11:30am) at the upcoming 2022 SFPE Greater Atlanta Conference. Joining Bellamy will be John Frank, P.E., FSFPE, Property Center of Expertise Leader AXA XL Risk Consulting, Wes Baker Staff VP/ Sr. Engineering Technical Specialist FM Global- Ingunn Haraldseid Product Specialist Fire and Safety Autostore, and Tom Gardner, Moderator.

“Automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) are being used to increase efficiency across a wide range of warehouse operations by utilizing cutting-edge robotics,” explains Bellamy. “However technically advanced they may be, ASRS systems are certainly not without significant potential fire safety risks, which this panel will explore.”

The 2022 SFPE Greater Atlanta Conference will be held March 15-16 at the Gas South District in Duluth, GA. The in-person event offers opportunities for networking and professional development, plus features some of the fire protection industry’s foremost experts, such as Bellamy.

Bellamy is the Chief Engineering Officer for Telgian Engineering & Consulting, LLC (TEC). He oversees the technical aspects of all engineering activities and establishes standards of performance for the fire protection engineering program. Bellamy also performs fire protection and life safety consulting services related to fire and building codes and national fire protection standards. He is a consultant for major construction projects and hazardous material storage facilities throughout the United States and has directed major full-scale fire test programs aimed at the development of alternative fire protection schemes resulting in client savings of over $1B. In addition, he has provided technical support to facilities in response to Department of Energy (DOE) audits and reviews for new facilities and modification plans and specifications for compliance with applicable DOE requirements. Bellamy also has extensive experience in assessing existing facilities for compliance with highly protected and improved risk criteria and code requirements.

He is an active member of National Fire Protection Association standards committees and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. Additionally, he has had numerous expert articles published in a variety of trade magazines including American Fire Sprinkler Association’s Sprinkler Age and is a major contributor to the NFPA 13, Automatic Sprinkler Systems Handbook and NFPA 25, Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems Handbook, published by NFPA.

In addition to the 2022 SFPE Greater Atlanta Conference, Bellamy is dedicated to advancing the fire protection industry, and is active in the world of fire and life safety education. He is a senior instructor and has presented classes for NFPA, AFSA, NFSA and Fire Smarts, providing instruction on a wide variety of topics including NFPA standards and the International Building and Fire Codes.
