During the conference, Leavitt’s seminars include:

MONDAY, MARCH 9: Installation of Sprinkler Systems – Day 1 — Session 7

TUESDAY, MARCH 10: Installation of Sprinkler Systems – Day 2 — Session 7

This 2-day seminar is a comprehensive review of the latest edition of NFPA 13. Attendees will participate in an extensive examination of the standard with an emphasis on locating, interpreting, and applying the various requirements, including: hazard classification, system types, components, and installation requirements. Additionally, water supplies, design deliverables, and acceptance testing will be addressed with an emphasis on their practical application.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11: Sprinkler Plan Review — Session 43

This seminar has been developed to give attendees core training and an introduction to the process of reading, interpreting and determining the compliance of fire sprinkler system plans and hydraulic calculations with the applicable codes and standards for design and installation. The process will involve a review of the knowledge of various topics contained in the 2019 edition of NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. Discussion and information provided will include topics such as identification of various construction types, commodity classes, occupancy hazards, and system types, as well as fire sprinklers themselves.

THURSDAY, MARCH 12: Residential Sprinkler Systems — Session 62

This seminar will address the design and installation of sprinkler systems in residential occupancies, per NFPA 13D, Standard for Installation of Sprinklers in One- and Two-Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes. An understanding of the regulations for sprinkler spacing, components and hardware, hydraulic calculation exercises, along with water supply evaluations will all be covered in detail. Installation requirements, including obstruction avoidance, heat zone limitations, pipe supports and valve criteria forming the foundation of such systems’ design, will also be presented, so that attendees may accurately apply the information found in the standard. Included in the presentation are variations in the design requirements for residential or dwelling unit sprinklers found in NFPA 13 and NFPA 13R, to enhance the use of the proper criteria or standard.
