Telgian Vice President Tom Parrish, SET, CFPS, PSP recently shared his fire protection knowledge and expertise in the article, “Don’t get caught out in the cold! The time to winterize fire protection systems is now” at Chain Store Age magazine. In the piece, Parrish offered his expert insight into how frozen fire sprinkler pipes and fire safety equipment are rendered ineffective due to snow and freezing temps, as well as the potentially serious threat to the safety of employees and customers. In addition, he explores how to limit potential losses with working fire sprinklers, dry sprinkler system maintenance, fire pump, backflow preventer, anti-freeze and extinguisher protection and winterization of fire safety systems, as well as how routine maintenance helps avoid problems.
Parrish has over 25 years of experience in the fire protection industry and is the Vice President of Telgian Corporation, as well as the current Fire Marshal at Putnam Township Fire Department in Pinckney, Michigan.
Committed to positive change within the industry, he also serves on several National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) committees and is the Vice President of the Automatic Fire Alarm Association (AFAA).
