As Telgian celebrates its 35th anniversary in business, President and CEO James Tomes recently sat down with the Ahwatukee Foothills News for a feature article. The piece traces the company’s relatively humble beginnings as a fire code development and fire-testing company, to its current standing as a Goliath in the industry, with revenues over of $75 million.
In 2001, after an extensive search, Telgian chose the Ahwatukee area in Arizona as the new location for one of its business units. After that successful transition, the corporate headquarters followed in 2006. Today, the company has more than 350 employees (roughly half in Arizona and the rest spread across 31 other states) and a comprehensive roster of fire protection, engineering and design, life safety and security services. And, the firm counts many of the world’s most recognizable corporations as its clients.
