This year’s Pat Ryan Team Spirit Award was presented to Mary McKenna. The award is the most prestigious honor bestowed at Telgian each year and was created in memory of former Telgian associate Pat Ryan. This award recognizes the spirit of teamwork and it is presented annually to the Telgian Associate who best embodies Pat Ryan’s legendary example.
“It is a great honor to present Mary with the Pat Ryan Team Spirit Award,” says Telgian Executive Chairman Russell Leavitt. “Each year, we have large numbers of deserving associates nominated by their peers from throughout the organization, which makes the decision most difficult, but also incredibly rewarding. Mary’s commitment to the company, her positive attitude, and her consistent willingness to support her team members is a stellar example of the exact qualities that that this award celebrates.”
McKenna is a Fire Suppression Designer for Telgian Engineering & Consulting, LLC and is a 15-year veteran of the firm. As an essential member of the Telgian team, she is responsible for designing projects with information obtained from the consultants and the applicable codes, working with all trades to coordinate piping issues, and coordinating with QAQC for drawing reviews and with PEs for drawing approvals. She fills an essential role in making sure critical deadlines are met, issues that could de-rail the project are addressed, and keeping up on revisions that come through after the project is approved and issued.
“I am beyond honored to be a recipient of the Pat Ryan Award this year,” says Mary. “The award represents the human ability to adapt and create an environment where everyone thrives. It is truly a team award, in that you must be nominated by your fellow peers to be recognized. Without this team I would not be able to be a part of Telgian’s success.”
In addition to McKenna, two other finalists were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the company. These include Regional Field Supervisor Paul Colston (Telgian Fire Safety, TFS) and Vice President, Field Operations Jeff Schaid (Telgian Fire Safety, TFS).
