Telgian Fire Safety recently announced the appointment of Russell Gardner as Vice President Finance / Controller. In this position, Gardner will be responsible for the preparation of operating budgets, overseeing financial reporting, and performing essential duties relating to payroll and operations. Gardner brings more than 20 years of finance management experience to Telgian, including extensive knowledge of managerial accounting, risk management and controls, forecasting / budgeting, LEAN management accounting, project management, procurement, and building high performing teams.
Prior to joining Telgian, Gardner served as CFO / Director of Business and Finance for the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. There, he led the organization’s finance department, continuously improving all aspects of accounting, budgeting, FP&A, revenue, accounts payable, payroll, procurement, logistics, and general services, while managing $150M in annual spending and revenue. He has also served in a number of leadership roles in finance for Intel Corporation and Shell Oil Company, among others.
Gardner earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from the University of Utah – Eccles School of Business and a Master’s of Business Administration from Brigham Young University – Marriott School of Management.
