Telgian Volunteers Plant 50+ Trees for a Brighter Future in Arizona

Telgian is a proud supporter of the Arizona Sustainability Alliance (AZSA) and its sustainability efforts in the local community. Recently, Telgian purchased over 50 trees, which company volunteers then planted at Excelencia School in Phoenix. Apart from their natural beauty, why plant trees? According to AZSA, extreme heat is the number one natural disaster that Arizonans face; and one of the best ways to combat extreme heat is by planting trees since they function as a heat sink to reduce temperatures.  Telgian’s project will have a positive impact on the environment in Phoenix.

This is an example of Telgian’s ongoing commitment to support the local community, not only with financial support, but more importantly, with volunteer hours. “We are continuing to seek ways to provide meaningful impact that give our associates the opportunity to serve,” explains CEO James Tomes. “This AZSA event was a rewarding endeavor, a great team building event and an important step for the local community. Trees not only provide beauty, they can also lower the temperature here in the Valley by as much as 2 degrees.”

Arizona Sustainability Alliance is a nonprofit organization focused on creation and support of cutting edge, project-based sustainability solutions in Arizona through civic engagement, collaboration and education. AZSA creates and supports sustainability solutions throughout Arizona. The organization empowers Arizona citizens to work together toward more verdant, equitable, and sustainable communities.
