Telgian is a proud supporter of the Arizona Sustainability Alliance (AZSA). Recently, the company participated in a Beat the Heat remote tree planting project. A dozen Telgian associates received a free tree with instructions on planting. According to AZSA, trees function as a heat sink to reduce temperatures.
Extreme heat is the number one natural disaster that Arizonans face. With longer summers and more days with temperatures in the 100’s, it is important to act. And, one of the best ways to combat extreme heat is by planting trees. So, this project will have a significant positive impact on the environment, which is critical in Phoenix.
Arizona Sustainability alliance is a nonprofit organization focused on creation and support of cutting edge, project based sustainability solutions in Arizona through civic engagement, collaboration and education. AZSA creates and supports sustainability solutions throughout Arizona. The organization empowers Arizona citizens to work together toward more verdant, equitable, and sustainable communities. The overall goal of sustainability is to meet the needs of the present without sacrificing the ability of future generations to meet their own needs as well.
