A New Approach to Visitor Management

A New Approach to Visitor ManagementHow has COVID-19 changed healthcare facilities’ approach to visitor management? Telgian Engineering & Consulting security expert Lauris Freidenfelds tackles this timely topic in the just-released issue of the Journal of Healthcare Protection Management. The Journal is produced by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).

“Although the country is eager to get our economy back up and running, it is highly likely that COVID-19 restrictions will remain in place through the end of the year, at minimum,” Freidenfelds. “The COVID-19 pandemic has driven the need to better control access into our buildings. Security is now on the front line, screening and protecting the organization from, not only the human aggressor, but the invisible threat of the virus.”

As Senior Project Manager for Telgian Engineering & Consulting, Freidenfelds is responsible for the project management of complex projects, focusing on security and emergency management. His 40+ years of experience include operational security, technology and emergency management programs. His extensive knowledge of emergency management personnel and operations encompasses planning, organizing, and directing security programs and activities, as well as development and coordination of disaster preparedness plans, the mitigation of, preparation for, and recovery from hazards and disasters.
