Telgian will be exhibiting and presenting at the upcoming 2016 Healthcare Summit, taking place in Las Vegas, NV, April 26th-April 28th, 2016.

The conference will include thousands of healthcare industry leaders and more than 80 education sessions. These sessions will be presented by peers and industry leaders, multiple keynote speakers discussing current topics. The exhibit fair will additionally feature more than 500 exhibitors showcasing best practice solutions to help solve financial and operational performance challenges.

Telgian’s Strategic Account Manager of Healthcare, Thomas Salamone, will be presenting on the topic What is the focus of a CMS/DOH pre-opening/pre-occupancy inspection?

Mr. Salamone has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 30 years helping facilities stay in compliance with CMS, DOH and The Joint Commission. He is a well-respected trainer, educator, consultant, outsourced director, and is designated by many in the healthcare and risk management communities as a “Health Care Accreditation Preparation, AHJ Readiness, Life Safety, Emergency Management and Environment of Care Expert.”

Session Title: What is the focus of a CMS/DOH pre-opening/pre-occupancy inspection?”

Session Track: Facility and Process Management for Operational Excellence

Session Description: This session will focus on what inspectors will be looking for, evaluating and citing with respect to systems, equipment and evidence of compliance documentation. Focus areas will include FGI Guidelines, CMS’ Conditions of Participation, NFPA 101, NFPA 99, NFPA 13, and inspection, testing and maintenance of fire protection, fire alarm and supervisory systems. Recommended practices and compliance tools will be discussed to help maintain compliance and greater awareness of surveyor expectations.

  1. Have a greater awareness of CMS’ expectations to better prepare for pre-opening/pre-occupancy inspections
  2. Have a better understanding of codes, regulations and conditions of participation to demonstrate and maintain compliance
