Fire Alarm and Signaling CodeTelgian Corporation’s Vice President, Tom Parrish, will present NFPA 72® National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code Training as part of a 3-day Classroom Training Event in Chicago from April 15-18, 2019. Parrish has more than 25 years’ of experience in fire protection and emergency response. He has held positions with municipal fire, law enforcement and emergency medical services, and in private industry system design and installation programs. In addition, Parrish serves on several important NFPA technical committees including NFPA 72 Signaling Systems for the Protection of Life and Property and Emergency Communications Systems. He is a senior instructor for NFPA and a board member of AFAA.

His professional credentials include Level IV NICET Certified Fire Alarm Technician, Level III NICET Inspections and Testing, Certified Fire Protection Specialist and Master Electrician. In addition, he is board-certified as a Physical Security Professional by ASIS.

NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code

This is a must-attend training event for fire alarm system designers, installers, electrical contractors, and architects, as well as auditors, project managers, and authorities having jurisdiction.

NFPA 72 training will advance attendees’ expertise with fire alarm and signaling system design and installation. Instruction covers the changing role of traditional fire alarm systems and how to interpret and apply NFPA 72 correctly and efficiently. This training is fully updated based on the 2019 edition of NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.

Fire Alarm and Signaling CodeIn addition to new technologies and major revisions in the Code, the training program covers the latest requirements for circuits including:

  • Class N circuits and pathways,
  • interconnected fire alarm control units,
  • emergency control functions,
  • initiating device identification,
  • spacing, and placement,
  • supervision station alarm systems, and
  • inspection and testing of equipment.

A Certificate of Educational Achievement is available after the class through an online review and exam.
