Leavitt’s presentation will focus on NFPA 25 Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems. Nationwide, NFPA 25 is considered the industry standard for water-based fire protection systems inspection, testing, and maintenance. Compliance with NFPA 25 maximizes fire safety systems’ integrity, helps avoid failure, and ensures fast, effective response in the event of a fire emergency.
Leavitt’s 39+ years of industry experience make him a sought-after presenter. He conducts fire and life safety seminars, such as the NFPA 25 seminar, nationally and internationally on a variety of related subjects. Leavitt holds a Level IV certification from NICET in Fire Sprinkler Layout and a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) designation. In addition, he is a Board Member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and is the Chair of the NFPA 13 Sprinkler System Discharge Criteria Technical Committee. Leavitt also serves on the NFPA 13 Installation Committee, as well as NFPA 3, NFPA 4 and NFPA 25 Technical Committees.
He has also authored industry training materials and numerous articles including Fire Safety Codes and Standards: What You Need to Know, Understanding Fire Protection Classifications, and the International Fire Sprinkler Opportunity, among others.
