Fire and life safety services provider Telgian Corporation today announced Steve Goyette has been named Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing and Robert Caputo, CFPS, CET, has joined Telgian as Executive Vice President for Compliance Solutions. These updates to Telgian’s Executive Leadership reflect the growth of the company and its fire protection, life safety and security service offerings.
Goyette joined the organization, known then as TVA Fire and Life Safety, in 1991. A highly respected senior leader and decision-maker at Telgian, Goyette has served in a variety of roles in his 23-year tenure, including fire sprinkler designer, fire protection consultant, Regional Director, Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President for Loss Control and Executive Vice President for Compliance Solutions. In his new role, he will be responsible for growth and expansion of the sales and marketing department throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Caputo, Telgian’s new Executive Vice President of Compliance Solutions, rejoins the organization after serving previously at TVA Fire and Life Safety in the mid-1990s where he was also a partner in the firm. Caputo has more than 35 years of experience in the fire protection industry and joins Telgian from Fire & Life Safety America/East Coast Fire Protection, where he served as Vice President since 2006. In his new role, he will oversee the operation of Telgian’s sprinkler and alarm testing and inspections team & maintenance and repair services for Compliance Solutions.

Caputo is active in industry leadership, serving as the chairman of the NFPA 16 (Foam Water Sprinkler Systems) technical committee and a member of multiple additional NFPA committees including: NFPA 13 Sprinkler Installation, NFPA 13 Sprinkler Discharge, NFPA 13 Sprinkler Systems Hangers and Braces, NFPA 3 & 4 Integrated Systems Testing, NFPA 25 Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-based Fire Protection Systems. Additionally, he is a contributor of the NFPA 13, 2013 Handbook, the NFPA 25, 2014 edition Handbook and the NFPA Inspection Manual. Caputo has presented across the nation on the subjects of fire protection and life safety systems, design and installation, hydraulic calculations, plan review, fire pumps, and special hazards.
