Computer Modeling
We use modern computer modeling techniques to assist your engineers in evaluating hazard development and system performance. To ensure that you have the most effective fire suppression and detection systems, as well as a comprehensive evacuation program, we utilize the following type of computer modeling:
- Timed egress modeling
- Smoke evacuation modeling
- Fire detection device activation time (sprinklers and smoke/heat detectors)
- Compartment fire modeling
Hazard Evaluation
We evaluate hazards for performance-based design using a variety of criteria. In addition to the construction type and protection levels used in the building, our engineers evaluate the occupancy of the building, the processes in the building, and local response capabilities. By taking all of these factors into account, we provide designers with comprehensive information of the building and its contents.
Site Evaluation
Telgian investigates and evaluates potential sites to ensure the infrastructure will meet the fire protection needs of the facility. By performing water flow investigations, Telgian can establish the reliability and adequacy of the water supply system to assess the site feasibility and allow for early preparation of a fire protection budget. This also provides for the early pursuit of alternative solutions in the event of water supply deficiencies.
Design Review
We help you, your architects, and other key team members identify issues in the concept phase of project implementation. By performing due diligence discovery and working with local, state, and federal jurisdictions, we can determine occupancy and construction requirements, service utility issues, and required protection criteria.
Hazardous Material Analysis
Telgian provides a complete analysis of materials used or stored at all facilities. Our chemical engineers, fire protection engineers, and hazardous material experts can work with you to ensure that storage, merchandising, or processes successfully and safely operate within prescribed guidelines.
Punch Walks
During construction, Telgian can inspect sprinkler system installation progress to confirm that systems are installed in accordance with plans and proper installation methods. This allows for early identification and correction of potential installation inadequacies. It also improves likelihood of acceptance by the jurisdiction at time of final inspection, reducing potential delays.
Acceptance Testing and System Completion Inspection
Upon completion of installation, Telgian can inspect and test your systems to make sure that they are installed and operating correctly and are providing the promised coverage. We note all items that need correction and provide a detailed description of the required action. This allows for final correction of identified deficiencies and reduces potential maintenance problems.
